FIVTEENTH CENTURY 1400-1500

In Staffordshire, the survival of records from laymen and town authorities begins to be better after 1400. The accounts shown here relate to Stafford, both for the town and its Earl. Whether written in English or Latin, they record minute details of expenditure for which the stewards, receivers or town officers had to account.
