Changes at Martin Street

Pupils from Weston Road High School visited Martin Street to compare
19th Century Stafford to the Stafford of today. They were asked to
study the scene from the same point of view as Thomas and Samuel Peploe
Wood and look at why and how the street had evolved.
“I can see the church in both pictures but the rest of the buildings have changed because shops have opened in their places.” Matthew Liddell-Young “Over time the buildings had to be updated. They have been
bought and changed for different jobs or cafes or other things.”
