Marriage entry for Charles Darwin and Emma Wedgwood, 29 January 1839

Charles Darwin (1809-1882) was a naturalist, geologist and the originator of the natural theory of selection and the grandson of Erasmus Darwin. Emma Wedgwood was his first cousin and the daughter of Josiah Wedgwood II. The marriage took place at the parish church of Maer, since Emma resided with her family at Maer Hall.
