Welcome to Staffordshire "Their Past, Your Future"

The Staffordshire "Their Past, Your Future" scheme involved Staffordshire County Council ‘s Children & Lifelong Learning Directorate working in partnership with 18 High, 1 Special and 5 Middle Schools to pursue opportunities to engage in commemoration and reflect upon the impact of the Second World War on the UK and all people who lived through it.

Around 2,347 students aged 9-18 across Staffordshire were directly involved in the projects and 4,199 including other young people, veterans and the wider community. Activities included interviewing veterans, visiting local and national sites and taking trips abroad.

These web pages serve a commemorative purpose, as well as a resource, and describe for each school, the wide range of activities that participants in the project undertook. We hope you enjoy the site and the valuable information it brings together.

Learning resource packs to help schools undertake their own projects with future generations are also available to download from this site.
