The town of Burton-upon-Trent has some fine examples of late 19th and early 20th century public architecture. The court house was built in Horninglow Street and completed in 1910. It is still there today.

There are many other examples of fine public buildings in towns across the county, not least in the county town of Stafford and in the city of Stoke on Trent.
