"Pollie", a 0-6-0 saddle tank locomotive built by the Yorkshire Engine Company was delivered to Whitfield in 1881. She had 14in x 20in clinders, 3ft 3in wheels, 160 lbs. Boiler pressure and weighed around 23 tons. Apart from main line working, she could tackle anything associated with the working of Whitfield traffic.
