Joseph Renshaw Wain – former secretary and liquidator of the Chatterley Iron Co.. Appointed general manager of Chatterley-Whitfield collieries on the formation of the company in 1891. He became managing-director in 1897. He died in February 1908 and was buried in Wolstanton churchyard.
