Honourable Orlando Bridgeman, 6 October 1894

This is a good illustration of the close relationship that could still exist in the late nineteenth century between an aristocratic family and the ordinary people of the locality.

PROGRAMME OF THE

Proceedings at Weston

To Celebrate the coming-of-Age

OF THE

Hon. Orlando Bridgeman,

Eldest Son of Viscount and Viscountess Newport, and
Grandson of the Right Honourable the Earl of Bradford.

October the 6th, 1894

The Presentations to Mr. Bridgeman

by the Tenantry,
by the Employees at weston, and
by the Weston Cricket Club,

 

will take place at 12o'clock at the Hall.

The Earl of Bradford will give a DINNER to the Tenantry and Workpeople on the
Estate, at 1 o'clock ( provided by Mrs. Carpendale, of Bradford Arms Inn, Ivetsey
Bank). Viscount Newport will preside.

The Women and School Children on the Estate, will be entertained to TEA by the
Earl and Countess, at 3 o'clock (provided by Mr. Wm. Jones, of the Hare and
Hounds Inn, Crackley Bank).
