Letter to William Cobham from members of the Privy Council requesting that he provide a list of the forces available in the county which could be used to defend the country against a Spanish attack, 2 April 1588

This letter shows the Privy Council attempting to create a well-structured, hierarchical defence force, which is ready to act in the event of a Spanish attack.
