Part of a letter from Anson to [James Naish] about his arrival in China, [? 7 December 1742], during his circumnavigation, 1740-1744.

After a difficult two years at sea, Anson and his crew had hoped to have a few months of respite whilst refitting in Macao. However, Anson finds their stay at Macao and his visit to Canton to be frustrating. In this letter his impatience at the delays and bureaucracy are apparent.
